Breeder Arthur
Heinemann writes the first breed standard (14 inches) for the Jack
Russell Terriers, which is still in use by the Jack Russell Terrier
Association of America (JRTAA) and the Jack Russell Terrier Club of
Great Britain (JRTCGB). Heinemann forms the Parson Jack Russell
Terrier Club (PJRTC) in England.

adopts the 10 to 15 inch standard for the breed.

Terrier Breeders Association (JRTBA) is founded as a group within the
JRTCA.

The JRTBA
separates from the JRTCA and adopts the 12 to 15 inch standard.

Russell Terrier is recognized by the The Kennel Club (KC), in England.

The Jack Russell
Terrier is recognized by the United Kennel Club (UKC), in the United
States.

1996:

The American
Kennel Club (AKC) recognizes the Jack Russell Terrier on the 12 to 15
inch height standard. The JRTBA is named the parent club by the
AKC.

1997:
|
The JRTBA changes
its name to the JRTAA.

2000:
|
The AKC accepts
the Jack Russell Terrier in the AKC Terrier Group.

2003:
|
The AKC changes
the name Jack Russell Terrier to Parson Russell Terrier. The JRTAA
changes its name to PRTAA.

AKC adopts the
PRTAA recommended Breed Standard Revisions.

| 2010: |
10 year Anniversary of Breed's acceptance into AKC.

PRTAA National will begin to be a "Roving National" in 2013 at Great Western Terrier Association of So. CA, then to Montgomery County Terrier Specialty in 2014, and at Purina Farms in Mo. in 2015.
